I find that with Stans tubeless, you have to make SUPER sure that the tyre bead is very clean, and doesn't have bits of dry sealant on it. Bead must be clean. Also, clean the rim strip nicely. Rogue bits of hardened sealant "lift" the tyre off the rim strip and air gets out. I've sukkeled my ass off before, tyre wouldn't inflate, take everything off and clean properly... seals first attempt.

weird. a faulty or loose valve might have leaked the air out initially, and may also cause problems with the 'bombing' of the wheel. have done many tubeless setups now, but havent experienced what you have.

This is what you did wrong:

The first time you inflate the thing' date=' inflate all the way to 60psi.

Never inflate NON UST tyres that much when using them tubeless. Actually, not even UST tyres.

Most tyres 'pop'/seat at under 3 bars. Higher pressure is very likely to stretch the bead and create possibility of a tyre popping off the rim at a later time (even though the manufacturer specifies a max pressure)

It's happened to me with a few 'non-ust' tires and I've seen quite a couple of real UST tires with stretched beads. They don't like high pressure.

Thanks this reminds me why I chucked tubeless and put in tubes.

Why create more work and stress?

Just put new racing ralphs on front and back last week as the old ones were worn, still contimplated making them tubeless, luckily good sense prevailed.

Still had the original made in china tubes from when I first installed the tyres and they going to become spare tubes... still in good condition.

Must be 'cause the rocks are not so hard around here and I ride like an old bat....Big%20smile
