WHAT trash are you talking....you can sit for three hours in anaerobic if you really need to.....not max but over lactate threshold. When you TT you are the entire way basically in anaerobic!!!

I'm trying to post the graph...

Daxiet, no misreading on Polar as I've got the heart rate files following a clear pattern.

Fandacious, 215-220 seems a bit high but understand what you mean.

anaerobic = oxygen deficit = beyond LT. you cant ride for very long beyond LT because your body cant convert glycogen fast enough

but by all mean... go do a TT anaerobic Wink

maybe you have a small heart that needs to work faster!

206 seems excessive, my max is 196 and im 30.

I cant hold above 190bpm for much longer than 3-4min but 180 much much longer.

Oh, the interesting thing is when I do the Polar fitness test, my VO2MAX is 63 and predicted HR Max normally 184.

Strange but I've had 3 Polars to date and all recording more or less the same pattern.

... i was off with a minute! or fit!

i've done up to 8minutes @ 92-94% before, but you are pretty poked after that.

also, to difference from 92% and 94% is huuuge. 94% feels much harder than 92%. especialy after 3 or 4 minutes

" These exercises can be performed only at submaximal efforts (up to about 90 per cent). A 90 per cent effort can be sustained for a maximum of two or three minutes."

"submaximal effort, not anaerobic!!"

there's a huge difference between lactate threshold = when you go into anaerobic and maximum!!

I sat an hour over my Lactate threshold in a race saturday....I TT over my lactate threshold....don't you???

Maybe I'm just really good at vastbyting thenWink

And I've had different people do the tests with exactly the same results so  170bpm is definitely my lactate threshold.

I am currently on a programme where I need to in some weeks do spend between 30 and 50 min in the Anaerobic (Lactate Threshold Zone), so its possible

Vomiting stuff, but possible yes

as for your max, get it tested and you'll be 100% sure of what you are doing and how hard you actually working

yup - you can sit *at* LT for hours, but once you past LT (anaerobic) you can only do it for short bursts

if you're riding at LT, you can do it for hours. once you go PAST LT, you wont be able to keep it up for more than a few minutes
