Lost City 103km riders taking 70km route

Wasn't me, I was relativley quiet the Steve's Auto Clinic Diesel guy and I had a lot of chats. Plus the stray B batch labelled rider, seems he was riding with a chip registered to a C-batch rider.

Haha 'twas them I played tag with - this  was just after turning left at the figure of 8 middle... So I went to the front and did my bit

I had to do the same thing when I won "C" bunch at Dischem 2 years ago.

Hi Guys & girls.

 

Well done to the guys (and the one girl) at the front of C batch.  I also tried to keep up with the front group for the first 20+ kays, but the work at the front had me gasping for air and unfortunately dropped off to recover a bit. 

 

Fortunately I finished 20th (initial results) in batch C, but what annoys the living daylights out of me is guys sitting at the back, not doing any effort at the front.

 

When the front group dropped me, I tried to rally a few guys to catch them, but to no avail.  In the end it was between about four guys (me included) to do all the chasing for the rest of the C batch.  Thanks to those guys.  And those that thanked me for the pace at the front, I did not really appreciate it.  A real catch 22.  Thanks for the compliment, but why didn't you try to lead for only 30s every few minutes.  In road racing its all about the bunch and teamwork.

 

One of my training buddies hanged on to dear life to finish 10th (in C) at the front.  Great ride!!

 

Wrt the 2nd timing mat, it must happen.  With Jock we notified the organisers as well that we started 15km into the race (105km - no directions to start), and that they had to remove our results.  They did comply.

 

In the end a nice weekend.  Of course the MTB race was fast and enjoyed it a lot more than the road.  But in the end, a great weekend of cycling!

With regards to seeding. How do they actually calculate. I know the cyclelab superseeding system bases your results off the winning time (as in the overall winner, not just the winner of the bacth). With this calculation method the guys who did the 70km route instead of the 103km improve their own seeding but they don't do anything material to everybody else's seeding.

 

Does anybody know if the Racetec seeding system is the same - i.e. seeding calculated off the winning time?

 

Obviously this only impacts the seeding - it's still wrong if you came first in the C batch but were not credited for it.

You know you are posting on a thread whose last post is a year old?

 

There is only one seeding system and that is run by cyclelab on the supercycling website regardless of whether it was a championchip or reacetec chip.
