And what I've heard is that Look has got a much better after service that the others.
You've just scored 500million bonus points!! Big%20smile

I had LOOK quarts'' date=' they in a box in the garage now, nice pedals, but they clip out extremely easily, so if you are doing a sprint up a hill or suddenly place any pressure upwards, they would un-clip, causing your knee to come flying past your ear...

[/quote'] A few people complained about easy unclipping....and that's why LOOK modified the pedal for 2009. No more such issues. I've had 100% positive feedback so far.

I love my Time Atac's i dont have any mud clearing issues with them. I use the Look's on the road and my wife does too(So i can steal hers for my track bike)

If I were to change from the time's my next pair would be Look Quartz

Have ridden Crank bros, loved then until i hit a rock during a race.

The pedal just colapses and only DNF in 4 years. Ride Shimano now,

probably not the best but indestructible.

I've hit plenty rocks with my Egg Beaters, and haven't broken 1 yet. Which ones were you using?

DNF just because you broke a pedal ??? I have lost my CB in a race on the right side but DNF just did not seem like an option . But if you hit eggbeater hard against rock it does break and they do require more maintenance than SPD's but in mud (i.e summer) they are the best you can get .

Crank Bros SL. I am temted to try tte LOOK, but compared to Crank Bros and Time it is FUGLY and BULKY. mud clearance would be great as with the CB and Time but getting the mud out of the pedals after the race would be a hassle. Thats just my point of view.. no calves2009-09-06 04:18:33

Ive used shimano for forever. Tried eggbeaters once but gave them away the next day. The shimano's are cheap, very very durable, the cleats lasts forever (no silly copper crap) and I never had any issues clipping in, or unclipping. If any other company makes a pedal that gives me the same joy..I might try it.

I'm currently using the Ryder SPD pedals. So far they seem to be great, I was told that they are the only ones with a double sealed bearing at that price. I put them into a mud wall on one ride and caked it in mud, still no problem clipping/unclipping. Recently noticed that the bearing in one aren't sounding so healthy though so I'm going to take them back to my LBS, if the bearings have collapsed after 2 months however, then I revoke my praise.

Shimano MTB pedals on all three tandems, one MTB and two Road. No problems. Only squeaks when it is dusty like now.
