i'm riding with 2 newbies in groenkloof on sunday mnorning at 9. they're newbies as in new to cycling, not roadies that converted, so the ride wont be too fast. one of them is a junkie already, always looking for exciting stuff to ride.

if you want to join us, let me know so that we can look out for you.

That's a pity but I stay to far.I'm from Randburg.

I'm in Bryanston, Groenkloof is a 45 minute drive, max. I'm sure I've done it in 30. Wink

We have a birthday get-together on Saturday night, so I'm sure we'll be too hungover to join. If we're still half-alive we'll make a plan.

Actually its really quick and easy to get there. I live not far from Randburg and it takes me approx. 25 min to get there. And it is SO worth the drive time.

i'm also from randburg, robol.

this was for YESTERDAY's sunday .... and it was the BEST R17.80 spent in a loooong time.

played with the 2 newbies in the morning, some giraffe, zebra and ostrich-spottings, lunch at cafe 41, and then played with another friend who knew fountains well a few years ago - WOW that fountains is a good ride!

cat-i the REAL question is whether the newbies enjoyed you playing with them?

agteros, you should have seen those eyes sparkling!

we're training for 94.7, i figured they need some bike handling skills before i let them loose on tar next weekend at dome2dome ... i think they's be bored with the tar quite quickly, after they got spoiled with the excitement :)

Yea, fountains is a lot of fun. However it caught me off guard, because my GF and I stumbled across it quite by accident, looking for a nice chilled route smiley3.gif

I've been riding at Groenkloof with the GF once a week for just over a month now and had my first go at a 16km route on my own on friday (please don't tell her that I say she's slowing me down). Did that in 1 hour flat. I'm sure most of you are giggling up your sleeves, but I'm chuffed.

Anyway, back to the point; When I got back to my car after the hour, I felt good... almost like I was only warmed up now!

So next time, I?ll go warm up at fountains and then see what time I do on the 16km Groenkloof route

My wife reminded me of something last night: Didn't we arrange a Groenkloof Ride/Braai for Sunday in our merry state last time? LOL

yeah' date=' we did, you still gonna come?[/quote']

Depends on the severity of the hangover. We have a birthday party on Saturday. You cooler is still in my car, so I guess I have to go. I'll see what wifey says, maybe I can convince her to braai while we ride!
