When CRC ship the parcel they dont give a tracking nr. I have seen in older topics that people do track their parcel locally. How do i go about tracking my CRC order locally?

Call Speed Services and give them your CRC tracking number, and if it has arrived in SA they will give you the local tracking number. If your parcel was sent by normal Royal Mail than no tracking number ever!

They do give you a tracking number. Go to your orders in on the CRC website then click 'View Order' and above all your items there should be a bar with your tracking number EExxxx...xxxGB, you can track that through www.parcelforce.com

Not sure how you get the local tracking number though. I've never needed it though. Normally 7 - 10 days from you order being shipped to being delivered to you door.

It depends on which option you choose when purchasing.

Nope, I'm close on 3 weeks waiting now. Think it's got to do with the @#$%ing postal workers strike. Don't know how to get a local tracking number. Sent Parcelforce an angry e-mail so hopefully they sort it out.

The strike has nothing to do with it. My package was sent on the 26 August and was in my mailbox in Hermanus(via JHB and CPT mail centres) by Wednesday 2 September....ie. 1 week

As soon as it hit CPT I phoned the post office tracking number and they gave me the local tracking number after I gave them the Parcelfrce one.

I find friendly requests to be more effective than angry email/calls.

My order arrived in JHB on the 5th at 09:44. (Accordign to Parcelforce)

When I phoned to ask for the local number today, the guy told me that it's not yet arrived in SA, so it's been lying here for 2 work days and it's not even been scanned.

It wasn't really angry. More irritated and concerned really. This is bad news, I hope my parcel hasn't been the victim of affirmitive shopping. Will call the post office first thing tomorrow.

Try calling the numbers listed in this thread:

I managed to get my frame out of customs the day after it arrived in SA.

I have the same problem!! It has been "Arrived at delivery depot" since 27th August, but nothing in my post box to date? I tried calling a number provided by Parcel Force 011 961 6053 (and i think this is the number of our local friendly post office service), which was engaged 19 out of 20 calls and the 20th i was cut off after about 5 minutes on hold. I didnt select any special service so i assume normal post office and hence impacted by there "time-out".  Plz can anybody provide updates on how they have managed to get there orders recently if any additional action was required

The day after my frame arrived in SA, I felt like I was in the twilight zone. First, they actually answered the phone. Then, the guy on the other line said he would go look for my package and call me back. I thought "yah right", and lo and behold 10 minutes later he called me back. Then, he told me that the package had not yet cleared customs, having only arrived the day before, however he told me to come through and collect and he would quickly process it for me. This is a true story.

So the long and the short of it: try 0119616075 / 59 and speak to a guy called Kapaulo (sp?)

Thanks!

Just found out that mine was scanned late afternoon today and I got the local number.

I've got a few email contacts I usually email invoices to at customs but not sure if I should wait or just send them invoices with the codes anyway. As far as I know CRC adds the invoice to the parcel.

BLights....I was going to say, not much happens over a weekend, so give it another day. When mine arrived in JHB I phoned and was also told it's not yet in the country. It gets scanned when it arrives at the airport but that doen't mean it's been handed over to the post office

MissionMan....go onto the post office site www.sapo.co.za and in the top right drop-down box select track and trace(or something like that)....in the pop-up window there's a tracking specific number you can phone. They're usually pretty quick.

One last bit of advice from me... if you call JHB Int'l Mail centre on the day that it arrives, you can arrange to go an collect it there (next to the airport), which IMO is a better option than waiting for it to make its way to your local post office.
