Nice shots. Just a general question about trials..... How well is the trials scene supported in SA ? Are there some guys down in Cape Town as well ? I haven't seen anyone around, but that's not to say they are not here.

 

Of all the bicycling sports, trials fascinates me the most because of the skill required to do it.

I know of 2 guys in Cape Town but sure, there must be a few more though. As far as support in SA....... very very little, thats where CRC and TARTY come in handy.

 

Peach rides a GT Zaskar trials frame, custom build, but you can also get the ZOO trials specific bikes 26" and 20" here.

Rough guess on prices,

 

Trials specific bikes (without seats)

20"   8k

26"   11k

 

GT Zaskar Trials frame 3k

but then you have to build it up, entry build around 7k good build 10/12k

 

If you are just getting into Trials you could also just go for a Dirt Jump bike, the geometry is pretty much the same (just put a longer stem on) and they are cheaper, more than sufficient for your first year or so.

 

Note, your first bike will take ALOT of punishment, so strong is good.
