As Jackie/o said, my problem has been solved.  I did not have access to the email address registered for our club and therefor did not receive any emails.  No fault of CGC.

Thanks Jackie. Clap

The series I'm referring to, is the Nissan MTB series, previously known as the FPC MTB series, which is now a Provincial series. (Marathon & Half marathon)

Would appreciate some feedback, I might just be in with a shot as well.

Jaco' date=' Iwould like to echo the sentiment - the evening was great. being inquisitive, I found out about the awards evening - my club did not inform me.

The Nissan series is also a Provincial series. When will those awards be given, as the last event (Pecanwood) is only on 21 November 2009.

thanks for the comment, appreciate it, the MTB Downhill series is still not complete as events still happening, then the BMX will also be done at there own event, not sure which event you were asking about, if not one of these, let me know, and will follow upSmile

Jacko, You seem to be very pasionate about what you are doing. Well done, organising these events takes up a lot of effort and time. Maybe put reminders on this site going forward with all the relevant details. Peoples details change and they are not always comunicated through. The more distribution channels the more people (and poeple) get to know about the events.

Keep up the good work.

Much appreciated. Will watch CGC site. As you have realised, this site is also a good means of communication.

Keep it up!!

Hi Jackie,

The Interclub races were very well organised and great fun, unfortunately I missed the final one as the flu got me.

Are you going to be getting in suggestions for another round next year ?

I think we should re look at the point system to encourage proper racing yet also include a system for aspiring cyclists perhaps have a A, B and C group, If you place in the C group then you have to move up to the B group etc ? I am sure there are lots of ideas but I think the current point system doesn't encourage all the clubs to participate, these race are not about time but rather racing for places and to handicap on time doesn't always work ?

Thanks for all your efforts this year, as I say the Interclub races were great fun even if it was impossible to pick up points for coming 1st 2nd or 3rd in the race.

Hi all People and poeple

I am very happy to see that loads of people enjoyed the evening!

It was a fun evening. Jackie, i enjoyed the points system that was used for the interclub seriers. yes the faster guys and gals had to win by far to get points! but it really encouraged me and some of my fellow cyclist to know that we are worth something for our club and that the points all counted! Sorry faster guys but for a not so fast person i scored some points for my club and was not close to the front!

It is however a "fun" event and all the good cyclist get recognized every other weekend at all the local races! good booster for all the slower guys!!!ClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClapClap

CGC informed all the clubs on numerous mails' date=' as well as a list of all receiving awards, we even published the awards evening on face book, and on twiiter, and on our website, as the administrater of CGC, i am tired of cyclists always wanting to point fingers at us, what happened in the past is not now, CGC has come a long way, and yes we informed all about this event, so please if you want to look for fault, maybe you should all look on your own doorsteps first, we put lots of effort into this event, i worked till midnight for 2 weeks to make it a success, and every weekend, i never asked for anything in return, but to make it a success for you guys the cyclists, so stop using this site to always run us dowm, if you got something nasty to say, phone or email, and lets sort it out, for once i would love to see a flippin well done CGC, it was a great evening, thanks, just my 2c worth[/quote']

Suggestion:

Email the indivdual CGC members regarding these type of functions instead of only the clubs.

Leaving it up to the clubs to notify all the CGC members increases the likelihood that someone will not get a reminder, as is clearly evident.

Prize givings / Awards are strange events. There is always a bad turnout for these events, does not make much difference how or where the event is held. With full catering and entertainment on offer is no joke or is that just to be accepted. People are quick to blame others, not even wanting the solution to the problem.

Dealz- glad you enjoyed it, and hope to see you at the next one,the interclub series will be back next year, from April, this time round we will be having 6 events, so will keep you posted on it, any suggestions regarding it, is welcome, as the last one was to see how things would work, so we are far from getting it right, so guys suggestions are welcome, will send it on to the committee for interclub next year

Mornedn - thanks as well, and hope to see you at the next series, the interclub was great fun, enjoyed by all, and i personally enjoyed meeting all of you, as being behind the scenes, i never to to see the people, so that is my opportunity to meet all, and a huge thanks to all that partook in it, i have made certificates for all the participants of interclub, so please get your clubs to collect them from me, or you can collect them from me.

a big thanks to all

I feel you need to look at the cost the cyclist has to pay to attend the event it can work out very costly for a family.
you win an award and then you have to pay to get it presented to you? smiley5.gif

It will be costly if CGC have to foot the bill for all those nominated.

with all the money they make from licensing' date=' surely they can afford 5 dinners.[/quote']

Not sure how CGC awards work, but usually a number of people are nominated and only at the event the winner is announced eg 5 cats 4 nominations in each cats that's 20 dinners.
