The author says that the rider hit a car after rounding a bend. I saw an accident involving a taxi on a very straight stretch of road. That link refers to a head-on with an X-Trail! The accident at Toadbury Hall involved a Taxi and there were two bikes down! Whoever it was...RIP and sympathy to friends and family! It was a very sombre reminder of the danger of riding on two wheels.
slowpoke Posted October 27, 2009 Posted October 27, 2009 the biker down following the head-on was out ogies way. rip wayne. i have established the cause of the toadbury accident - it was as it appeared to be - the taxi pulled into the road to do a u-turn without checking to see the bikes approaching from behind. rip yammie rider. rip to the 2 dudes involved in the collision with the tanker down south.

Lotus Posted October 27, 2009 Author Posted October 27, 2009 It seems the biking community have had a very black weekend. They have had 4 fatalities in this area, in one weekend! I really feel for the friends and family. I registered on the ThinkBike forum (http://forum.thinkbike.co.za/forum.php) to express condolences, and to thank Think Bike for the great job they do as marshalls on the weekend club rides. They were genuinely appreciative of the feedback. If anyone here feels they do a good job then log on and let them know. Just start a new thread like "Thanks from the cyclists" and add your messages.
