I'd like to let fellow hubbers know about the super service i received from Outsurance. The car i went with to the cycle challenge was stolen with a bag with my lights, shock pump and a few other accessories (dont know why i carry the bag with me but i do). Put in a claim and it was sorted Tuesday afternoon. Big up to them.

This post demonstrates exactly what is wrong with The Hub. It adds no value to the thread yet is designed to be negative and piss people off. Chop.

Neither did the original post as it gave no details. Where was it stolen from, what make, etc?

Just sound like an Outsurance salesman doing a Ra-Ra for his company!!

All i did was sharing a bad situation that had an upside due to a company honouring its side of the deal. I pay my premiums - fact. A buddy's car was stolen at the 94.7 cycle challenge - fact. My cycling bag was in the car - fact. The value of the bag with its contents is was about R3000 - fact.

I claimed on Monday and on Tuesday the claim was approved.

Not a salesman, neither do i enjoy paying premiums. People on the site are always wondering if the insurance companies will pay claims, hence my post.

Your car got stolen and they paid out. Where's the special part...isnt that standard practise? Do they send you a thank you card every month after you paid your premiums?

Outsurance are doing very well in rebuilding my lapa (or should I now say tiled roof braai area) after it burnt down the other day.  Not an issue at all.  Go-ahead was given within 24 hours after the last document was submitted to the assesors.

Howevery my short term insurance is pulling a move.  Claiming some small print that does not exist on my contract.  Mailed them a copy of my schedule and mentioned that I am sure it would be resolved before we get to the ombudsman.

Forgive me, but why would your insurance company pay for your mates car when it gets stolen. Surely his insurance should pay......or are you in the habit of insuring cars for friends?

[/quote'] Which you cannot do as there has to be a fundamental insurable interest between the item insured and the person insuring it!

Listen Chop, do you want to see how many post we can gather where the insurance company did not pay?

Clearly there is more to this post than meets the eye, which I could gather from reading it only once, not his car, he didnt get anything paid out for the car, so why the whooha?

I also thought its a Outsurance Salesman trying to pull a quick one, they(Outsurance)dont have the best reputation out there.

I'm not impressed with Outsurance at all! Used to insure with them, then come claim time. Ag man, what a disaster! It was some time ago, maybe its better now.
