Gear cable upgrades for MTB?

'ello all,

Any advice on gear cable upgrades for mtb use - moving to sealed units with inner liners etc that I assume can take wet lubrication and will remain silky smooth and maintenance free...?

Nokon?

Gore Ride On??

Others?

Got some Nokons for my road bike, they ?are really good quality fittings with all the bit you need to setup, tempted to go for this but the Ride-On lool like a beter option since they the outers are continious which might bode better for mud & dust.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks but a tad too bling for me, dem umlunghu cables.

I've gone with some black-is-beautiful and smooth-like-my-bokkies-legs Gore Ride On

I've used Gore ride-on in the past and they were magnificent. However like everything, they need to be replaced with time. Tend to use cheaper liners now with standard cables and replace more often.

Dont waste your time. Upgrade your bike with continuous cable and be done with it. Leave all the namby pamby poofter woofter lubricated cables behind. They are based on false premises and certainly won't be a fit-and-forget exercise.

If you really want some shine in them, paint them gold before fitting.

I am interested to see the difference with a full outer to the RD. I have done 4 SabieX races with 'interrupted' outer and my new frame has a full outer to the RD.

This year we'll see ........
