Yip, got a sponsored one for the 94.7. Did it on a delivery bike so I spent 6h30mins in them and they are not that bad. They are quite comfy in fact with a decent shammy. Use it now for commuting & spinning classes. It has seen some abuse. Only gripes are that the elastic thingy on the legs pull leg hairs which is actually a good thing cause it means they wont move & it seems that the elastic around the legs have stretched a bit. Not too sure about how much they cost so dont know where they slot into the market.

If you are going to pay R950 I would go for the Cape Storm Nitros bibs. I think they retail for R995. I prefer them.

Dude if your'e going to spent 1K on a bib, why not throw in an extra R500 and get the Assos?

thats what im thinkink Thumper! would rather buy Assos but i thought that the 100 miler is specifically made for long distances eg thicker padding, if they are just like any other pants i will certainly buy Assos instead

If your doing long distance go for the Fl.

The Mile is great for 50km races.

Just ordered 100miler's for my new club.

Have used the previous "gold class" for rides to Cape Town and KZN without issues.

R950 is pricey.  Don't get ripped off.

Because that is R500 more (50% more which is a lot) and you have to draw the line somewhere.  Using that logic I'd be riding a spiffy full susser - not a HT.Ricky Bobby2009-12-02 03:46:36

100miler is crap in my opinion. to big, like wearing a nappy, 6 of the guys in my DC road with them and no-one was happy the other 6 road with the Anatomic Ergo padding, we paid R450 ex vat for the Bibs with ergo padding, not sure who charges R1000 for the 100 miler shorts, but they are ripping you off as they were R150 rand cheaper than the Ergo if I remember correctly.

Help us, please name a few brands.

I am naturally well padded and do not seem to suffer as much as my skinny assed buddies. I don't like the First AScent, the padding feels too big and is also loose around the crotch(sp?).

I also don't think I need to spend 1.5k on a pair of Assos, what other makes do you recommend and also where are they available and how much?

I used the 100 miler in this year's Epic and had zero issues.  Thirsty for bum cream, probably due to the thickness.  Agree that is not sleek, but hey the ride was comfy.post_button_smiley.gif

R900 is too much.  Should be closer to R650.
