Here is the emil as I received it:

Registrations for 2010 Cycling Licenses will open on 24 December 2009!

Due to a significant overhaul of the CyclingSA licencing structure,
licence applications
for 2010 will only open on the 24th December 2009. All applications
received and
approved by the 10th January will have their cards printed and posted
during that week.
Your 2009 licence will remain valid until the end of January 2010.

The New License Structure has the following benefits:
* Simplified approach
* Lower cost of entry
* Free Development Licenses (by application through CSA)
* All License types carry a seeding benefit.

2010 License Types - (All licenses are multidisciplinary)
* Racing License - R300
For elite level riders wanting to compete in provincial or national
championships
* Cyclosport - R75
For regular event participants (2 events or more per year)
* Junior Licence- R35
18 and younger (born 1992 and after). All juniors (both competitive
and social)
will ride under this single licence.
* Day License - R35
For the cyclist who enters 2 or less events per year. Day licenses
will carry a full
seeding benefit provided that they are purchased in advance (ie
through the online
event entry system)

PLEASE NOTE: Seeding will be based on participant history and ability
ONLY. Licence
type will not carry any seeding advantage.
Applications Through MyRace
Cycling South Africa has again awarded responsibility for
administration of the national
rider database to MyRace.
The award was made on the basis that considerable experience has been
gained from the
2009 season and MyRace have made significant improvements to the 2010
process in
order to ensure a superior user experience and far quicker delivery of
cards.

Some of the major enhancements include:
1. New Website and Database Server: A completely revamped website with
faster
and easier navigation.
2. User Messages: Regular system messages to notify applicants of any
delay in the
application or approval process.
3. Support Desk: A dedicated support website and trained personnel to
ensure quick
resolution of any application queries. http://support.cyclingsa.com
4. Delivery reports and tracking function to verify the progress of an
application.

 Trubie

My bitch is not about the price, but more the lack of service/support/product for the money I am paying. In 2009 it cost me R165 to do road races. I don't do any other type of racing.

Next year I will still be doing only road races. What will I be getting for the extra R135?OuchConfused

You will apparantly be seeded into a vet category if your seeding is good enough to stop guys taking out a licence & entering in a racing vets cat just to get an early start, interesting to see how this is going to be policed but still the theory is a good one.

You will be allowed to ride in the vets category if your seeding is good enough but not for provincials & nationals or SA champs.

If one can believe everything they say, yes.

Seeing is believing.

Will wait with baited breath then for the seedings for Fast One - then we will know!

No more cyclists taking out lic just for early start then being dropped and  overtaken by blue rinse grannies on shopping bikes. scotty2009-12-04 08:22:44
