Cassette advice

Hi there

Was wondering what the quality difference is between the Sram and Shimano cassette's.

I currently ride an 11-32 and was wanting to get an 11-34 for climbing.

I noticed that the entry level Shimano is the same price as a mid level Sram.

I have an SLX crankset, XT derailleur and XT chain....could I use an Sram cassette?

The Sram cassettes work fine with Shimano components and seem to last a lot longer than Shimano cassettes. Also cheaper at my LBS.

I know it's frowned upon, but you can run a sh!tmano cassette with an otherwise all campag setup, can you put a SRAM cassette in there?

Sorry to piggyback on the post, but I need to get a new casette and don't know the difference between normal shimano casette, slx casette, xt casette and sram casettes.

 

What should I go for?

@ TNT1 the spacing between campy and shimano/sram is ever so slightly different so it'll sort of work but not well...

I run an Ultegra cassette with my Chorus transmission. While I admit its not quite a fast as using a Campy cassette I find that in general its really not an issue, (for me) as while riding on the road I don't really notice it.
