You would probably give me a big carrot not because of the bike but because you are a good rider.(type of bike will have nothing to do with it) Unfortunately I am not the race snake you are but I will challenge you to beat my freind (G) who raced in the uk and Europe and trained with BARLOWworld. Lucky for you he only rides a Merida 96 5000d so you should wipe the floor with him on your single speed 29er.

As for your FREIND (G), I am up for a challenge and if I can't beat him on the singlespeed then I will have a go on my Epic 29'er, failing that I will call on my friend (E) eldron and he can have a go, failing that I will call on my friend © who lives in a CAVE and happens to win many international events on this platform, he trains with Ned Overend, Burry and Sauser

26er vs 29er,

 

pick the one that looks the nicest.

 

although 29ers have come a long way and the big wheels do create a different feeling, I would not replace a 26 er for one.

 

They are nice but i won't be spending my own money on a 29er in a hurry.

Thank goodness,I got involved with the other side(29ers) and I thought the whole hub had changed over, Ya its cool being thirteen again SUMMIT,YOU dont want to take on my bud VERNON KOEKEMOER. He will KOEK your moer up and down those hills Seriously each to his own,you have joined the 29 brigade now and it will be like farting into thunder to have you believe in the 26 again and vise versa. Pro or just your average rider, each must try both and make their mind up. My only reservation for now is LBstores dont stock a large enough range of 29er products but hopefully in a year or two the shelves will have an equal amount and range of products etc. CHEERS

I'm in two minds about threads like this...

 

On the one hand I love to preech the gospel of 29ers - on the other hand I want to keep hush hush on the 29ers to maintain my uncompetitive advantage

 

Each to their own I say - some will embrace the technology blindly, some will damn the technology without even trying it, some will try it and reject it and some love it.

 

Take your pick - ride your bike and have fun. It matters not what you ride but what your attitude to riding is!
