LMAO - I am sure I told a certain someone not to fall off yesterday morning!!! After my pep talk a certain someone proceeded to brag how he had not fallen off a bicycle in ages.

Vat so!! Next time listen to the Muxman!!

LOLLOLLOL

you did indeedEmbarrassed?but i'm blaming the dentist! usually when seeing him is followed by pain!Ouch

Have you had X-rays done? maybe its broken...

i did last night. the one next to it has a tiny crack.

here's the hero of the day - little holy roller 1, aka conor.

this was taken shortly before the crash. he sped off down the hill to find the marshalls. i rode down the hill, out of the singletrack, and onto the bit by the fence. the marshall came up to me on the quad, but i told him i would rather finish and get it seen to them. about 500 metres on, the ambulance approached the course. i stopped and said: "you must be looking for me?" he looked at it and said it was dislocated, and wanted to sort it there and then, but i wimped out, and said i'd do it at the finish. i crossed the line, and realised that they'd obviously radio-ed the other medic, cos he was standing. he looked at me, motioned me over - with a certain amount of glee - and said: "i've been waiting for you?" i said i'd just go put the bike down and knock down a beer for courage, but then little holy roller 2 came over and said: "don't worry, dad, i'll park it for you?"?so no beerCrydon;t know what was worse: hurting it or having it fixed?

I've dislocated a few shoulders, and I can honestly say that putting it back is the most painful thing.

I can't find the disc with the CT scan of my last dislocation, but it was a bad one. The doc tried to put it back, but he wussed out when I started seeing stars. Had to go under full anaesthetic to put it back.

yeah, they're great kids. conor actually punctured after the ambulance, and we'd already used up his spare tube. i said i'd walk with him to the finish. he burry-ed it to the finish.

Hi all from my injury near deer park last year. Hit a concrete culvert coming down from Tafelberg road, and the speed exceeded my talent, panicked and jumped off landing in rocky ditch next to road.  the result 14 stitches in shin and 8 on knee

Funny thing is there was not much pain at all, even when the doctor was cleaning it out afterward, no broken bones but open to the bone with some bone fragments and pieces of twigs and leaves. The shin just split open and gash was about 3cm wide and 10cm long... Felt like an idiot afterward.....need more skill. and confidence shot after that

I actually saw him as I was getting back onto the tar to go to the finish. He still had a smile on his face. Good stuff.

If I had a tube I would've given it to him, but I didn't. :(
