Where in Groenkloof do you guys ride?  Fort Klapperkop?  I work at LCM and see alot of cyclist here.  Is it singletrack and how many km's do you guys normally do?  Could a I do it with a very standard hardtail?

Did I really nice ride with some cool people in the Silverlakes area.  Don't ask me exactly where.  I would never be able to find the place again.  Nice challenging track and excellent scenery.  Nice group.  They waited quite patiently for the "New Guys".

Groenkloof is the game reserve !! Any bike will be able to do it .

It just depends on how quick you plan on going.

There is one particular section that will shake your eyes out of their sockets if you go down there at pace on a bike with no suspension... Oh, and that section just loves murdering new Monorails!!!   smiley19.gif MaxUmis2010-02-11 08:54:44

smiley36.gif all fun and games until someone cuts a Monorail.

Where in groenies you talking bout, next to the fence after the wooden bridge ?

Nope, that's ruff, but not so bad. This is about 2km after you go up Onions. You're very likely to see Wildebees on the right on this section. Very ROCKY, pretty quick jeeptrack that turns to single track when you cross another road. It ends in a T junction with the humped downhill jeep track that leads down to the tar road.

It's not the last bit (single track bit) that bothers me... It's the last bit of jeep track. Shake-shake-shake-shake-kidney failure- shake-shake-shake

So what is this suspension you all talk about? I ride groenkloof day and night and never had the need for any suspension.

okay, okay.

Groenkloof is easy. The tracks are as good as paved with no uphills or downhills to speak of. My granny goes around the 16km loop in 30 minutes flat on her single-speed from 1857. Also, the wildebees like it when bikers try to pet their little ones smiley17.gif

I found the best way to forget about your kidneys on that shakey road is to go even faster and just worry about not killing myself.Tongue
