Which helmet?

Hi Guys,

I'm in the market for a new helmet and need some advice, help and smarty pants comments. I'm looking to spend around a 1000 bucks and have been looking at some models on CRC, is it wort getting one of these bad boys or would it be better to go local? If I go the CRC route, how do I size my head - is it just the circumference of your head or do you need to add some multiplication factor if you have a banana shaped head as opposed to an apple shaped head? Who stocks the Rudy Projects? Dont want to spend too much since I recently found out that it is a single use item...

Thanks

What about some padded gloves as well? Have you though about getting some gloves from Graham Smith?

Thanks Para. How much do they retail for? Who stocks a good range?

Ricky, why not utilise the crash replacement policy on your old helmet and upgrade if need be. Should be substantially cheaper than buying a brand new helmet.

Thanks Thug. Will have a look. Doubt if it'll work, I bought an el cheapo Specialized helmet from FPC 2 years ago for about R400.

Buy a helmet local as you are going to get hit on taxes when you bring it in.

Your LBS should give you a good deal on 2009 stock.
