HowellingWulf Posted January 31, 2010 Posted January 31, 2010 Good day. Do anybody have more info on the cyclist that came off his bike at SBR on Saturday morning. The friend I phoned for help after my crash phoned me on Saturday morning just after 10 to tell me that a mutual firend came across a guy who came down hard. Apperently when they got to him he was slipping in and out of consciousness and he couldnt feel/move his arms or legs. If anybody has more news please keep us updated. My thoughts are with all who know him and I wish him a speedy recovery.

Slave Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 This is bad news. Really, I aksed everyone so nicely to take it easy this year and let me be the last one to fall. This just highlights how easy it is to fall and be seriously injured. Before my crash, I seriously thought it would never happen to me. Then I found out that it happens in a herat beat and it can change your life forever. We are all responsible for our own safety and we need to be very attentive to this sport. Either tha, or we count the cost. I hope the cyclist makes a full recovery. So Ricky, how are you getting along there bud? I am feeling better than I have in a long time and the doc said I could start driving again after three weks. Glad to say that I can still drive and the recovery is going well.

Not a bad idea. My bike is in need of a major service. Waiting for some parts from CRC to land on my doorstep. Can only start cycling again on the 20th and leaving for DBN for the Sani2C on the 27th. Not too sure if I'll get the time to cycle here in JHB before then. Me thinks we should do another Breedsnek ride sometime in the near future...

Just picked Derailure dropout that broke in my crash, just need to get serviced and put together again with some new parts I bought. It so tempting to go and ride if you see you bike every day just waiting for you.

He started to move his fingers a couple of days ago but still cant move his legs. His name is Andy and he is a dentist in Joberg somewhere. He is currently in the Sandton Mediclininc.

Parents told me about it but just that some guy had the crash and severly injured his back, not any other details. But it is definitely the same guy!
