Back from the 2010 grave.

It seems bargains have become the exception to the rule on the hub.

Not that it's all bad... I suppose it means that the Hub provides such a big market that sellers are getting their prices.

So that's one positive side for the sellers.

Other than the obvious down side to buyers, the market/demand is so big, that buyers are clambering over each other to get that bargain. I've found myself beaten to a sale even though I know I was the first to inquire. I'm not complaining as such, I'm just saying it leaves a bad taste. It's a bit like someone taking the DVD you're about to hire out of your hand and rents it. I suppose I should refresh my inbox more regularly and pull the trigger on the sale immediately... The problem with this scenario is that it makes for a scammers paradise.

It's an "Eat or be eaten world"

Only time I feel it is fair to comment about the price on someones for sale post, whether by PM or otherwise, is if you are interested in purchasing the item. If you are not interested, then stay out of it. If the seller thinks the item is worth x amount, who are you to tell him otherwise. If the price is too high the item wont sell and the seller will decide to either keep the item or lower the price.

Some people said they feel they need to protect those less knowledgeable from being ripped off. I don't buy that. The only reason you buy something secondhand is because it is cheaper than you could get the same thing new for. You generally have a good idea what the thing will cost new and if you dont, you do a bit of research. If you get ripped off by buying something secondhand its your own fault.

Who here has actually been ripped off, price wise, on the hub. I think the number of people will be very small.

These comments are the only reason I read the classifieds, keep it on I say. If your product is so superior it will stood the test of hubbers comments
