Problem the kids grows up very quickly and around the early teens he/she starts to whip your sorry ass in cycling and you think "hell maybe the kids got talent, lets give them the best" so you buy him/her your dream bike to race with and you are happy to pimp your bike with his/her old spares..

Remember firewolf they don't stay babies forever. I have 9 year old twin boys who started MTB'ing last year. I have even done a few 15km funrides with them and in the next few years we will be able do the more technical singletrack together. They can't wait and neither can I  Smile

When I was surfing I used to be taken in buy such romantic notions as "Fatherhood" and, "Passing things on" and such like. But then I was blessed to get back into the unforgiving arena of road racing, or also, more commanly known as the Western Cape PPA?League thingy, which quickly cured me of any sentimental leanings.  Carbon vs Wierd green slime type of stuff coming from Baby's ass...

Please. Lets us not get sidetracked here.? It realy is a very simply question.? What has more value?? A child; oh such a romantic term. Or a full f**king carbon' date=' dura ace, zipp tubbed and race ready dream machine?[/quote']

Shame - If you need to ask then......... I have a child and would trade her for nothing.

I will add though - Before she was born I had a crappy little bakkie and my wife had a crappy little ballade and we lived in a crappy little flat.

After she was born I was driven. I got a better car, a house, traveled the world, better life altogether. I have more than I than and if she had not been born I probably would not be where I am now. A child drives you, as a father, protector, provider, to want more and achieve more for your family and for yourself.

Astana what work do you do?  Cause if it is half as boring as my job then you win.

No its not that bad, its just that if your used to a routine of being very busy (office hours) and organizing training around that (morning and afternoon) and one day its super quite (like today) its really gets on my nerves and I feel that "work" is wasting my time - i wanna go and ride.

I'm in the fruit export industry. Also from a fruit farm, so its what I do.
