It's awesome, I followed Eldrons lead and took the plunge, and couldn't be more impressed!

This thing is a rocket, and sometimes feels unfair!!

I cant tell you what it sell me back...once it's out....My wife will kill me!

I can't wait to go thrash it around on familiar territory. I only got it one day before Epic

I don't gush very much about new bikes/equipment but thats exactly how I felt. Steep rocky uphills and hectic downhills are particularly awesome on 29ers.

Soon I will have everyone on 29ers - even though it negates some of the cult status and our unfair advantage Big%20smile

Total weight 9.85kg

Tongue Tongue Tongue

That is crazy low.

My Niner Air 9 Scandium / XTR is about 10.9kg

Half the price and none of the carbon though LOL

My Scandal was weighed at the bike shop when I put that XTR crank on.

11.5kgs exactly Shocked

Only place I can really lose some weight is the wheels +- 400gr

Perhaps 100gr from my saddle

Maybe change the Thomson Stem and Seatpost to KCNC stuff

Try the American Classics you see on Tarmac's bike (I have a pair waiting for tyres in my room!) - they're 1,600g/pair and relatively cheap.

~R4,500 from Planet x I think...

I may sell the Rims and the spokes...

I may be upgrading those ... hehehe.

So if you have some nice hubs and want to convert, gimme a shout.

Currently have these hubs (with matching skewers) laced to Velocity Blunts with DT double butted spokes and pro-lock nipples. Weight is 1900gr.

just out of interest... on a 29er with double crank, and 11 - 32 cassette, don't you loose alot of low gearing with the bigger wheel dia??

I could out ride okes on the flats with the 42/11 and climbed 27% gradients with the 29/34...

there were enough gears. I never had to walk something others could ride.

The Am classics have a slightly lighter hub, but weigh is 1600g built. You don't need rim tape either.

I am riding with a 39/26 crank and an 11/36 cassette, no problems there for me.

Thug, nice hubs those but will ultimately build a relatively heavy wheels.

I am using DT Swiss 240 s hubs with A/Classic rims, weight is 1 650 grams built as a 2 cross wheel.
