Hey Disc-weenies (see what I did there..), maybe you cna help Lilo with her XTR Disc's. After a few rides the front disc Pad starts to rub against the disc putting resistance on the wheel rotation and it makes a chirping sound. <?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

She had taken the bike in 3 times already and every time the same problem starts up again after 1 or two races.

I understand from what Fredd at Geco told me that XTR Disc are suppose to be self allining?? but it's not happing, HELP?!?!?!

Check that the callipers are alligned in the first place. Take out the pads clean the callipers. And rebleed.

what if the callipers are not alligned, how do I allign them?? Think they cleaned the pads to death already. Rebleed, mmm, I'll tell them to do that.

You get spacers to allign the callipers. But rather take it to a shop. The bleeding is very easy, let them show you and next time DIY.

sweet, I don't think Fredd's machnic has heard of spacers before or he would have fixed it the first damn time...I'll tjune him, thx a Mil!Tongue

Yeah, I set up a mates 2007 XTR just before the Epic. They come with 2 or 3 spacers per caliper to allign correctly. Also make sure the wheels is set correctly before doing the allignment Confused. Take it to Mark, he know's what he's doing.

Well from what I could find out the Hope Mono Mini Pros are the lightest with the best performance. And at +-R5000 a set its not to bad.

I have never had Hope mini pro's but what i have read on many reviews is that the hopes get hot, which means the fluid loses some of their hydraulic properties resulting in spongy brakes.

That is what the most reviews say. According to those same reviews the formula oro and juicy ultimate does not suffer the same fate..

Just a thought.

If he doesn't know anything he'll phone me and ask me to come fix it for him. I contract my mtb workshop skills out at R500 p/h Wink
