Anyone had any problems with the Cs200cad?

My LBS said that they no longer stock as have too many problems - tried to sell me a 725 for a higher price of course!

was also looking at the polar range, problem is thats a bike mount unit.

If you go to gym it sucks. the 725 is nicer coz its a watch, you can run with it, cycle with it, take it to gym.

Finally decided on the Garmin forerunner 305, also watch type unit with HR monitor for running, cycling and whatever else. Cool thing is it uses a builtin GPS receiver for speed and altitude data. no need for stupid sensors and magnets on ur bike. Can also get a cadence sensor with it.

what price did you pay for the forerunner. The price of the CS200 will be about R1200 I think so should be quite a difference.

I had the CS200CAD when it first came out. Returned it before the end of the week because it wouldn't upload.

The replacement was returned with the same problem - also within a week. Bought a 725 instead.

maybe the answer is to buy a cheap computer for now and look at a Garmin later?

Thats what i did. I also had my sights on the CS200cad, but read many bad reviews so went with a simple Cateye with cadence. I also can't afford to splash out 2.5K on a heart rate monitor.

$212 vs 3 to 4k. My blood just boils reading that!!!!

Good for you for going the cheaper option. Garmin SA might think they are very smart ripping the public off but they dont realise they are losing sales.

I have had the CS200cad since the beginning of the year and have not had any problems, Well one issue i just found; if you ride on two bikes you need the bike mount sensors on both bikes to save you from moving it over every time.

The CAD and Speed sensor also uses thinner cable ties then the usual ones you get from the hardware store - luckily they had enough in the box to move it once :)

I got mine from OR Tambo airport in the duty free electronics store.
