They eventually managed to stopped the bleeding to stitch the wound.

Wow, thats crazy! I'm a bit interested in the anatomy here (cause I'm studying it right now ) Did the doc say what artery it hit? The only artery that I can think of is the anterior tibial artery, but thats behind 2 muscles! Was it that deep?!!!

Veins are External.
