Past week-end lazing at Camps Bay when I overheard some dude mention that they advised Ian and MTN to appeal his sentence and they will make it go away as the sport needed MTN now more than ever as they stood to lose 47 events if MTN  pulled the plug let alone the professional set-up Doug runs to the tune of R60million over 5 years from MTN.

 

By the way this dude is in talks with MTN to help CSA financially as well.

I hope they appeal and lose in the process. This would be the opportune time to give him the sentence he deserves -  2 YEARS!

we really dont want to believe this, but unless the contrary is made public, I suppose we dont have much of a choice but to believe the rumours.

Its serious but also very sad at the same time.

 

Pity that stories like these will always overshadow good news such as the MTB stra session which was held, etc....

Just wondering when/if the road comm will engage in similar talks?

i dont know what is more of a joke - the fact that they dope and cheat, or the excusses afterwards - it was for my knee? i did not know what the doctor gave me? it was the dentists floss? un clean water bottle? had back pain? i take panado for back pain dude not testosterone!!!!!!!the only doper ever caught who was big enough to say ya i did it sorry - punish me if you must was Nolan Hoffman, - 10 for doping but +10 for honest answer when asked WHY?

Testosterone for his knee Luke? Don't think Test does anything for your knee, should have taken some corticosteroid if I'm not mistaken?

you are correct, but he admitted taking a band substance for his knee specifically (substance not mentioned) but was not testosterone, which will never repair a knee, so ya the injury was knee but he admitted to taking a banned substance for the knee,

The way I heard it, Nolan was caught with an anabolic steroid which is a performance enhancing drug. Ian was caught with a gluco- corticoid which is a strong anti-inflammatory like cortisone. In my mind this is a big difference. The use of cortisone is likely the result of to injury. One will likely never hear the truth, the  full truth and nothing but the truth

i agree with all of the below - my question is can you test positive for any of these substances if it was in a water bottle??????? rather come clean and say yes i took instead of lying on how it got in your system in the 1st place

I know you get testo in pill, injection, gel/patch form, so yes it would be possible to get it from a bottle if a few pills dissolved in a bottle but I've never heard of any one taking it like that hehehe or if some one might have fondled he's balls with hands covered with testo gel, all good excuses hehehe
