What? A driverless bus on a trailer??

What is it with the attitudes of bus drivers these days? Have they joined the Metro rail strike?

Guys' date=' levity aside. Your safety is your responsibility. It is in your hands to be safe.

Mahatma Ghandi said "Be the change you want to see in the world." If you have a k@k houding because everyone else has one, then we are headed for total anarchy. If we all decide to have a gd atitude, then at least there will be some users with a good one.

Never mind what everyone else is doing.

Slave? You want sheep to think for themselves? Not a chance man! Nada! Nothing! Zilch! Niks!

Some cyclists will take the worst behaviour exhibited by one of their own and then amplify that 1000x... Ouch Motorists see that same behaviour by some and project that onto all of us! Confused With dire consequences to all cyclists.

Guess cyclists think that flowing white robes on bicycles are not 'cool' - hence nobody willing to be the change they want to see?

If only we can bottle good attitude and sell it expensively of a shelf somewhere... THEN cyclists will QUEUE to get it Embarrassed

Stats done in the UK is that most non fatal accidents occur while waiting at traffic lights getting hit by negligent drivers. Further more females are involved in these types of accidents than male as they were more prone to obey the traffic light rule.

Thanks for this post. There is enough animosity between drivers and cyclists without us giving them more excuses to be aggressive towards us. I now stop every time, even if it means losing my group. Hopefully this will influence the behaviour of other cyclists.

Cheers,

We will never know as we dont keep these types of stats Big%20smile

I agree with those stats. I'll always stop and then go if safe to do so ,waiting at a traffic light makes me feel like a sitting duck. Embarrassed

Stopping at a traffice light is there to not only protect you but other people - so the choice is not yours.

Your current attitude reinforces the view many motorists have of cyclists - hopefully you will see my point.

I beg to differ, stopping IS my choice....motorists have no regard for me why should I care about them?

And so by the way, using a pic from Europe with a cyclist and no helmet will not make me take you seriously....

THE LAW...says a lot of other things....that people dont do but they do not admit to it....

I have seen lots of people not stopping....and I can you tell you I do not...if it is safe I go.....no amount of bla bla on the hub is going to change my attitude...and I am not going to hide how I feel either...why should I ?

That attitude is why this country is such a mess. Get off the Hub, we don't need that attitude here.

I think it depends on context to a certain extent. My "base case" is always to obey the rules of the road. In certain special cases, e.g. when there is absolutely nobody else around and it is perfectly safe for me to "skip" the robot without annoying, inconveniencing or risking the safety of other road users, then I will "skip" the traffic light.

But generally, I think we will go a long way to improving the cyclist/motorist "problem" by showing respect for one another.

Taps- get real....how many people drive without safety belts...?

When last did you hubbers chat on your phone while driving?

How many speeding fines do you get a year.....

And you tell me I have the wrong attitude...it is called being honest.....

I agree with Coenie- when they give me a lane to cycle in ,I'll gladly pay for a bicycle licence and then also stop properly! But when a car or taxi turns in front of another at a traffic light, we will be the first sitting ducksDead to be hit!
