jugheaddave Posted June 2, 2010 Share Interesting stuff!!! Old bike spokes are always useful!!! Just yesterday I repaired the flusher on my toilet with an old spoke!!!
ichnusa Posted June 2, 2010 Share I believe in the right tool for the job... Modified spanner to push brake pistons back? Where's the mod? And why not use a large screwdriver? Grinded part of the head away to fit over pin of piston. Screwdriver to sharp and damages brittle pistons - lesson learnt the expensive way! Guest Big H Posted June 3, 2010 Share My chain whip is a piece of flat bar with the correct size holes and the chain riveted on the same way you woul fix a chain. Have been using is for ages. Do not forget the rubber band....... cut old tubes into rubber bands and store them in a small bank ziploc bag. I always beg the old dentist bits ...... they are very handy to use as metal files in your Dremel knockoff....... if a screw or nut breaks off you can form a new screwdriver slot with these for instance. deanbean Posted June 6, 2010 Share Doesn't is damage the cups? Not if you do it carefully, remember it only needs a low torque tightening, Edit sorry not so low, 35-50Nm, which is also not too tight, so if you tighten it carefully is fine, I've got the right tool now though.deanbean2010-06-06 12:13:

You can just use a piece of clothing to protect the cups. Sorry 'bout that. Nice hack, by the way.
