Hi all, how's the protection holding up is M3 the answer for protecting my downtube? I want to do this on my new carbon frame , any more ideas ??

I got some "blade tape" that they use to protect the leading edges of aircraft rotor blades. Works well.

Is it much thicker/better than the M3 or VPS everybody is talking about? Where did you get it?

Go to a cycle shop and ask for BBB Tubeskin......If in the south go to Crown and if in the north go to CWC or Gecko.

 Airbender had his done at the shop. They are at the cape gate lifestyle centre - 021 982 3446

I also got the BBB stuff from CWC and from Cape Town cycles.

Evening All, just a quick question for anyone in the western cape. Just moved down there and am looking for some clear adhesive tape to protect the downbar and various other parts of my carbon frame. The only bits i've seen are small presized and shaped stickers with RavX in the middle, not was i was thinking of.

Try any Sign Shop in and around your area.

The clear, self-adhesive Vinyl used for signs etc is the bomb.

Any of them should have it. Particularly the Sign Shops who print decals.

Ask for Calendered and not Cast vinyl. Calendered (2-3 year) film removes easier than Cast.

You can use a mixture of IPA and water to remove adhesive. If you mix a drop or 3 of sunlight in a spray bottle of water it helps with application and positioning. Just let it dry out before you blast the nearest trail.

Think I will go back to the ADD/ADHD site now. I see the OP posted this ?? ONE YEAR AGO!

If he hasn't come right yet, then the bike is gone and he has a 29er by now!

Who the hell resurrected this one??
