Bos Posted July 8, 2010 Share So I must put my seat back, down perhaps? Raise my bar? Pleasure all, I just came across it accidentally, but Like I said, could be a good place to start from. Dirt Girl, Is the outside of your hand also numb? the side down your pinky?? As Minty said, there are some very sensitive nerves around your palm area. I find I get the numbness/pins & needles in my hands If Im on my roadbike and I rest my hands on the forward bend of the bars It then goes away again when I alter my grip a little. Im thinking It might be your grips? the nerves run Inbetween your thumb cussion and the cussion along the bottom(pinky side) of your hands. Did you perhaps ride with your hands on top of your bars for prolonged periods? IOW thumb on top not holding on and basicly resting your palms on the bars? Maybe you should have it checked out.. or google it.
Clinton - theCOW Posted July 8, 2010 Share DG - If you are JHB based, Jon Patricios works out of Rosebank and Sandton, he does sports medicine, did the injections in my elbow. Google him, he does a lot of the rugby players etc. I have golfers elbow & also nerve issues think from hockey and sitting in front of a PC most the day. Use to suffer with finger & arm numbness and pains. Better now, hockey's busy effecting it again tho I also know an Orthopaedic Surgeon who does Upper Limb (arms & shoulders) but he suggested i see Jon 1st. PS....neither will be able to help you with bike setup
AndreZA Posted July 12, 2010 Share I played a bit with this "calculator" and it can not be right. If I use the setting they tell me then I need to drop my seat by 30mm. Also if you look at how it calculates you will see that it works out frame size according to you forearm length +6.5mm
Hacc Posted July 12, 2010 Share Thanks everyone for this post... I had exactly the same problem after last year's 94.7. It was my right hand and also my pinky and half of my ring finger. It took about two months to go away though after visiting my GP, and she suggested I should wait and see if it goes away. Awesome post, thanks Bos!!
