here an interesting fact. The first shimano ever win (overall) at the TdF was in 1999. We all know who won riding a Trek bike that year. So in the last 20 years I'd safely say that perhaps 80-90% of Colnago's in the pro ranks were fitted out with Campag.

Correct Italian carbon it still is, although we dont know for how long. Carbon tubes made by the ATR Group who are technically bankrupt and the entire company is up for auction. The same company do carbon for Ferrari, so their bankruptcy is quite a big deal.

Hey Colnago, you seem to be the man in the know. Any idea when the bikes will be available in South Africa? And will one be able to make a pre order for the bikes?

Posted

They will be and are taking pre orders.

makes sense as the C59 are made to size.

anybody interested PM me and ill give you the guys details who is doing it all.

let me check with him before i post his deatils on the hub.

I hear they want to launch from Oct- November and then the new m10 Jan as its a 2011 bike.im sure they will be in a few shops around the country

They saying that Ernesto wanted his brand back in SA so he is pushing it big time from the factory side.nice to hear they got the backing from Italy.

I stand by my original statement. Colnago now sources its carbon from the east, same factory that Pinarello and Eddy Merckx gets its carbon from(Toray). This is fact.

Hey Holy, how much for the slightly older 'nago? what size frame is it and I assume its a 8spd dura-ace groupo?

If it's the same one I know of, it's about a 54cm Titanio with 8 speed DA and some cool Greg Lemond bars..

When i last heard it was a hubber who was going to be bringing Colnago into SA.

I have had a look at a few of the new 2011 bikes and i must say LOOK are looking very good at the moment.
