TCS decided to "control"...ja..ja...lag julle gatte af.....the race to try and bring the sprinters in to the line.....It all went well and we worked damn hard to bridge every attack and group that went away. We even had to chase down our own guys!! The Meat boys was NOT impressed as this did not suite their style of racing....but we HAD to give it a shot. In the end it was a cyclelab guy (I think) that did some serious damage with 20km to go into the wind.....guttered the bunch REAL hard and a group of 8 guys got away. Of the 8 man break 4 guys was Hubbers. Myself Spinnekop, Marco, 101% and Scalpel. Two MTN guys, David Lappies and a guy from Dimention Data.None of our sprinters managed to get over into the select group.This was not ideal for us and I tried my best to wo work to hard in order for the bunch to try catch us.....but in the end it was not to be. As we approached the line I poped....like CABOOM!! Nowhere. To much done in the first half and the flu did not do any justice....but no excuses...the guys rode like deamons! The MTN dude took the sprint, winning the Vets bunch.

Spinnekop Posted August 27, 2007 Author Posted August 27, 2007 As for the MTB part.....Sunday was colder. Race started at 8 and we all got off in a mass bunch start. I worked myself right up to the front but lasted for about 20minutes.....poped off the back and slotted into a second group. From there it was a easy ride.For a MTB event it was quite flat en not ONE technical part.....But LOTS of fun and LOTS and LOTS of dust. Congrats to Andrew Mclean wipping but in the race!! I ended up in 16th place but it seams my timing chip was not working. Kakaa got 4th I think and Barend 3rd?
