Reden Posted September 1, 2010 Share I recently got some USN Recover Max but do not like a milk shake when I'm tired. So I got some of PVM's reignite.Currently I train in the afternoons and this reignite keeps me awake almost all night and my heartbeat is sky high. The tub does not state that the powder contains any kaffeinne. So what is the stimmulant in it then?Think I must go back to the USN.

b-unit Posted September 1, 2010 Share I often read on the hub: "Have a milkshake" or "drink a glass of nesquik". If you compare the Protein, carbs, fat & fibre of a sport supplement to some kind of milkshake and the label looks the same, it does NOT mean it is. Carbs is not just carbs, the same as fat is not just fat. Dextrose is carbs & waxy maize starch is carbs. It doe definitely NOT mean that they react the same in your body. If you dont have money for a recovery drink rather go and study what you need and go find out exactly what foods, liquids or fruits & veg will give you that. Carbs is not just carbs, the same as fat is not just fat.The carbs in low-fat Milo (sucrose, maltose, glucose/dextrose,fructose) are similar to those in RecoverMax. More tellingly, though, is that the available research papers indicate that chocolate milk performs at least as well as commercial drinks (with similar CHO/protein mix) for recovery from endurance excerise. Of course, a problem with the milk is it contains lactose which causes problems for some people. Based on the available research that shows it works just as well, coupled to advice given to me by a sports dietician, I am quite happy to use Milo as a recovery drink rather than a more expensive commercial alternative. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16676705http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/19234590http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20029509http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20482784
