On my commute home today, I rode past this Crime/accident scene.

The thieves crashed into a Volvo while trying to get away. This was on Milner Road Rondebosch.

I see The Star have an artical on this:

Thieves caught red-handed

14 September 2010, 00:09

A Rondebosch home-owner happened to drive past his house yesterday afternoon and noticed a strange car parked in his driveway.

As he turned back to go to the house, two men walked down the driveway, into the unknown car and reversed into the street.

Police said the home-owner then rammed into the small car with his SUV, forcing it to a standstill and with the help of the public was able to stop the pair from escaping.

The two men, 23- and 29-year-old Grassy Park brothers who were charged with house breaking and theft, were arrested by police who were passing nearby.

Inside their car, officers

found a number of stolen items which the home-owner identified as his.

The men are expected to appear in the Cape Town Magistrate's Court tomorrow.

I hope the warm and fuzzy feelings the owner gets for catching the thieves, make up for the damage to his car, because there's no way his insurance company will pay seeing as he drove into their car intentionally.

Don't think he really thought things through before reacting.
