Ek wil net hoor wat dink julle:

 

Die girls het saam die VC gery by Campus 2 Campus, en die van julle wat gery het sal weet dat die wind erg was en ons heeltyd in die gutter was.

 

Ons hele bunch was konstant oor die wit lyn gewees, ons het nie 'n waarskuwing gekry wat ons kon hoor nie. Ons was net die 3 girls oor in die bunch op die einde. My team mate het 2de gekom en ek 3de, toe ons wag vir prys uitdeling kom die fotograaf na ons toe en vra of dit ons is wat geDQ is, ek se toe nee want niemand het enige iets vir ons gese nie.

 

Ek besluit toe om anyway die comm te gaan vra wat gaan aan, uit die 3 girls wat in die bunch oor was waarvan ALMAL heeltyd oor die wit lyn was, is net ek en my team mate GEDQ. Die girl wat gewen het het nogsteeds haar prys gekry en ons is heeltemal van die results afgehaal.

 

Nadat ons apel aangeteken het,(oor wat ek dink baie onregverdig was) is daar net vir ons gese hulle hou by die besluit.

 

Dis die groot rede hoekom ek ophou padfiets ry het is oor sulke nonsens en na hoeveel jaar kan hulle nogsteeds nie Komms kry wat kan redeneer en hulle foute kan reg maak nie. By wie moet mens kla en wie sal actually na mens luister en iets aan die saak doen??

sounds like you ladies got a raw deal! strange that they didnt DQ the other girl too?? was there perhaps an apeal lodged against you two? unfortunately there isnt much you can do about it now but i seriously question the experience of some of the COMMS at the smaller races

nope, no apeal was lodged and apparantly we were more on the wrong side, but no warning and no one telling us we were dq'd.

 

I dont really care now, cos its done, but if they dont do anything about it it is going to happen again.

Hubby was telling me about this after race.

 

I'm sorry but with the amount of cyclists being killed out on the road I believe that everyone over the white line should have been disqualified.

 

This is all just hearsay but apparently nobody even bothered to move back when vehicles were coming head-on and that is just not on. No wonder motorists love us cyclists.

i totally agree with you Michelle but everybody should be shaved under the same comb though! you cant DQ only part of the bunch because they where further across the line! if you over you are over period!

yes i also agree, i am not at all fighting the issue that we were disqualified rules is rules, its because it was unfair of them to only disqualify us 2, they shouldve stopped the whole race.

If that is the case then they should disqualify 30% of the pros. As we went through the one dip we we forced to the side because the pros were approaching from the front. Alot of them were over the centre line.

Agree with you on that. It shouldn't matter how far you are over the line. Everyone over the white line should have been disqualified - not just a few.

I agree.

 

As we were passed by the pro's, the AL bunch had to clinch to the left to make way for the pro's coming back, a lot of them were ver the white line.... (This happened near Lindequesdrift turnoff)

Sanet. You got a raw deal. I hate bullies and their arrogance. I feel like blikseming the wall in my office in 'sympathy frustration'. Social rides and riders are one thing but when you are racing I would like to see 'rolling' road closures.

 

Not to say that what happened in our race is commendable but, in the VC race, at one stage, we were so far to the right that our Commisaire passed us on the left hand side.

 

In the last 20 km riding against the wind I was dropped from the bunch and a 20 metre gap opened. Thereafter you time trial home alone. When racing against strong opposition, who work together in a group, you very seldom get a second chance once you get dropped.

 

It is no wonder that racers are prepared to risk it across the line. (Only serious racers that have never crossed the white line have permission to 'flame' me.)

Nie altyd nie. Ons het 'n marshall op die Wilro gehad wat een van die girls beveel het om aan die linkerkant van die wit lyn te ry. Sy het hom die bird geflip! "n Saak het 2 kante.

Die comms is nie konsekwent met hulle besluite nie. By elke race is dit dieselfde storie: Hulle pas die witlyn reel toe op wie wanneer dit hulle pas, neutraliseer nie die groepe as die vinniger manne die stadiges inhaal nie.

Hy doen sy werk half en ek is seker as julle geweet het julle is geDQ by die einde, sou julle julself onmiddelik gaan verdedig het.

Vir die girl wat die comm gevloek het by die ander race, skuif terug, neem haar no en DQ haar na die tyd.
