Just a general question. What will the influence be on your performance from a rear wheel that does not spin freely. If you spin wheel on the bike it turn 3 to 4 times and then stop. Off-course you will not feel it on a 10 km ride but what about a 70 to 100 km ride?

why dont you test it with your car first?

 

apply the handbrake only halfway and then go for a 100km drive and report back?

 

Scary thing is... some hubber might actually go try that now :lol:

My brakes gave me aa helluva problem, been rubbing ofr ages, kept having to fiddle around with the brakes. Not sure why but the eventually siezed solid. had to replace them - what a difference.

Chech the nuts that hold the bearings in place. They may be to tight. I am no expert though.

Also check that your skewer is not to tight., but for Pete's sake, don't have it to lose!blink.gif

Thank you for all the feedback. I knew it will make a difference but dit not realize it will have such a huge impact. :huh: I honestly believe that my fitness went from 60 to zero overnight. Had three bad races in ‘n row. Never checked the rear wheel. Yes I know was stupid from me. :angry: The problem was that the rear brake pads got sort of stuck. I now replaced them and wheel is fixed.

 

Maybe I will no be able to finich the Crater Cruise.
