Who attended last nights training session?

Weather was nice, got in a full hour worth of riding (33km at 33km/h avg) including the warmup, hot laps and cool down.

Met Bikemonster there (thanks for the company) and one of my DC team mates. Riding was good, weather nice, company nice. All in all a good nights training.

Only gripe I have is the "squirrels" on the track. When doing the sprints they'll come blasting past you from behind, jump infront of you (switching actually) and then promptly run out of steam, forcing a person also to sit up. I like to build up momemtum when sprinting, I do not fly off at full pace just to run out of steam/legs/breath long before the sprint is done. I like to build up and finish fast. Only got in one or two long, clean runs, but still enjoyed the nights training.

Yip, was really cool to see so many people there too. Pity about the break-in to the car (see other thread). Squirrels are the least of my worries, I'm too busy trying to hang onto the back of the group! Quite fun back there in the bleachers - never know when you finally lose the back of the bunch!

Did not even know about the break-in. Took my own Security Guard with, my wife went with and sat in the car reading.

I try and hang onto the front of the bunch, and thats where the squirrels are most active. Had three guys last nite who kept on switching me. I later started thinking that they've got something against me and took turns harassing me. :P :D

I was there first time it was great, guy had puncture right in front of me on one of the bends and that was a bit dodgy as it was right after we picked up speed, enjoyed thoroughly my max speed was 51 and average 35, will be there next week.

I think you were parked directly opposite me... there was a brunette lady reading and looking very bored in a bakkie!

Just don't get pushed onto those shark-fin corner stones. Luckily I can just veer offroad, if need be!

Judging by your avatar, I'm guessing you were the guy on the celeste cooured Bianchi, wearing a Bianchi jersey and Bianchi gloves?

(I don't think I've left anything out.)

You gotta wear a "Monster" energy drink top or something similar next week, for ease of reference!

Brunette yes, bored yes, bakkie no, white VW Polo.

Think I heard you going onto those sharkfins in the corner going into the back straight. Sprint just started when I heard this racket behind me (some choice words were uttered :P ). Was waiting for that crunching sound, luckily it did not materialise.

Well, she's just showing she cares! :)

No, think that was my mate who did eventually use more choice words about the fellow you swerved into him. Luckily us hangers on at the back have wide open space - and jangly nerves, so the space helps.

When the guys wheel popped I almost fell off.

It was either waiting for me at Killarney, or at home. The choice was her's  .

You were not far behind me when that incident took place. The tyre explosion was a bit behind me, luckily, or I might have tried to "take cover" in the middle of the track. :D
