How hot was Saturday

Saturday I left home at 6am and went on my route to Magaliesburg and back over Hekpoort. The light breeze was nice but when I hit Hekpoort there was no wind at all. Sweat was running down my arms and when I got home I saw that the temperature was 34° on top of Hekpoort with a max of 36° on the route. I went up Hekpoort at 8:30 and was home at 10am. I see tough times for the Jacaranda race in two weeks time.

Problem is you go up the hill with the wind behind you and then it doesn't cool you down at all. The question is will you be happier if the wind is in your face up Hekpoort?

Hi,

I see that the temp at the Commonwealth Games men's road race was 41. It must have been a killer.
