Dukeblue Posted September 20, 2007 Share So I have just bought my TCR advanced frame and then read the topic on the unforutnate guy with the Cervelo vs Car. There are some comments on insurance paying, replacing or fixing bikes or nooooottt I would like to insure this frame as I really can't replace it if it goes for any other reason that the warranty covered issues, such as crashes and the like. Anyone with some advice on insurance options? good and bad experiences? and darn-it but the cricketers choked AGAIN!
Reg Lizard Posted September 20, 2007 Share Cyclesure is your best bet.
FanieFiets Posted September 21, 2007 Share first thing you need to make sure of is that you are covered in race as well. I'm with SA Eagle,. they also underwrite cyclesure. Had a claim middle of the year. Had to drop the bike at a cycle shop where the owner and assessor decided that the bike was not repairable. They paid within a week. I bought back the part that I could still use (dura ace pedals, saddle, ect.) for R 500-00 and upgraded to new my own TCR advanced. Remember that if your bike is insured you will be paid out if the condition of the insured item is not the same after the accident and cant be repaired eg. cosmetic damage will be paid out as well. Just search for 'insurance' lot of threads about it. FanieFiets2007-09-21 00:15:

FanieFiets Posted September 21, 2007 Share O, ja, ek betaal 'n premie van ongeveer 6% op my fiets. Dit beteken vir R 25 000-00 betaal ek R 125 vir maand.
Psycho Posted September 21, 2007 Share I would stay away from CycleSure if I was you....... first of all They don't know the meaning of the word service Second I feel they don't listen to YOU THE PAYING CUSTOMER Thirdly They fixed my Fondriest like SHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!! Well that's my opinion and I will pretty soon post a thread on their bad service and the disgusting manner my bike was "fixed" So beware of Cycle(un)sure.... Speed Devil Posted September 21, 2007 Share I am with Santam. I had a claim with them last year for damges and they payed out within a week. I would definitely give them a try. I have my house contents and cars insured with them also, so I get a better rate for my bike than what cyclesure or any other insurance company that specialises in bicycle insurance could give me. Delgado Posted September 21, 2007 Share Just a quick note... the SA Eagle name does not exist anymore! They now trade under the name of their parent Co. Zurich Financial Services...
