oh, before i forget.

The training at killarney: is it on the short Go-kart circuit or on the maincircuit. and if it is on the maincircuit, do they give the cyclist right of way over the race cars? im a very nervous cyclist.

It's on the main circuit. You have to watch out for the F1 cars - they have right of way. Make sure you wear two pairs of bib shorts and collect a reinforced helmet from the organisers when you enter the track.

You must be joking or are living in a parallel universe with different time zones. :)

The DC is 9 days away - so I hope you have good muscle memory. Or you will need to find the worlds fastest training program.

Good luck

for those of you that havent noticed, im dead serious.

im also still not convinced about the Dates. my team captain has just assured me it is on the 27th of December.

so i dont see the humour in it.

i have however contacted PPA regarding the Killarney evenings. the guy was very friendly and seemed very happy about my inquiries. he has advised me to first start with the Easyer Wednesday group riders. apparently they focus on core strenght and base level fitness.

is this true? what would you guys recomend?

graveldonkey, you are the guy that wanted to swop your cortina and caravan for my ellsworth! you still keen?

Gravel, I just started training for the DC too, I think 1 months, is more than enough, I did 50km easy over the weekend.

Seeing as you are serious about this race, can I please join your team? Do you take team mates who ride Scott Speedsters, as I have been told that they arent cool, but its all I could afford. Look forward to your response.

nope. not me, must be a different Graveldonkey.

by the way. thats ridiculous. who would do something that ridiculous. we all know the Ellesworth is not nearly worth as much as the Cortina, let alone the Caravan.

we normally dont discriminate against what type of bicycles people ride in our group, but the Scott riders does seem to be slower in general. besides, dont they make Motorcross goggles? they have no business multi-franchising to increase their profits. same concept as KTM. Dont understand it.

That aside, we will welcome u anytime. just be prepared to train hard and do the "early morning, late night" thing. we do rides in the morning from 8:00 till 8:30 and then again a Spin class from 18:00 - 18:30. be prepared, it wont be easy. there is little time left so gota work hard. send me a private message to get in touch.

Thanks GD,

The sales man at the shop said the scotts where just as good Lance's bikes, and he also gave me acopy of his book, which really motivated me.

The evening spinning will be great, but the morning training might be a problem, I am a heavy drinker and sometimes over sleep a bit, I hope this isnt a problem. I will be a great team mate, and will organise a photoshoot for us before the event that we can upload to facebook, thank you, I am very excited!!

Ps: You dont mind if I call you GD do you?

Ok, so now I know you are joking :D Killarney .. Wednesday .. easier  Pfttt !!! Go back to sleep man :D Thanks for the entertaining thread .. Seriously !!!!

Hey, you seem to be knowledgable regarding Killarney. whats the deal, can a semi fit guy like me join? or do you have to go through Qualifying phases?

not at all.

it looks like you have come to the right place. we are all heavy drinkers and would welcome a fella like u anytime. we also struggle with the early morning sessions but we take it fairly easy. When the spin instructor adjusts he's bike up a notch we just pretend to turn the knob. actually quite funny.

drop me a line, we can definitely use another team mate. im sure we will all get over the Scott issue in time.
