It's always great to see those stats, but it's really depressing for me to see just how much the more normal (normalised!) cyclists (myself included) are lacking. Cry

I dunno Smit, the left hand side of your Mean Maximal Power Curve is pretty damn impressive, especially for someone that has the work commitments that you have!

Dunno either - you are the expert Big%20smile. Someone said it's all about Power 2 Weight. (I'm bad in one of the categories - guess which one). You could always spice up the discussion and bring in Power vs. CdA, Crr and draw nice graphics, but already saw you were dissed a bit on being too detailed in the discussions. Anyhow, you apparently can't use the left side if the right side isn't up to scratch!

Good point!  Right side of the curve get's you into the race, left side allows you to finish it.  Not much fun having all the ammo when you are shooting for tenth spot!

I would not want to be in a sprint with Smit Shocked

Neither would I - I'd have to attack him 5km from the finish, that's for sure!

Bruce,

The 20min NP and 60min NP numbers are awesome!!

Out of interest, should be collecting my MTB with recently fitted Ergomo before the weekend, looking forward to seeing what power on the MTB looks like.

Please would you send me a file or two if that is okay with you.  I'd like to take a look at the data (using Quadrant Analysis) and get a feel for the demands of MTB - I'd like to give it a go one day and would be interested to see if it would suit.

sure will do when I have collected a couple.  I find it very very different from road riding- more like a long time trial than racing in a bunch.

will do.  should have it all sorted for cederberg so hopefully some power files after that.

I have the power files of one of the guys I rode with at crater cruise, wil check if he is happy to post it.
