Kids need guidance more than 'moering'. Mine is growing up well (according to other very well behaved etc etc blah blah) without any moering. A firm hand does not necessarily mean a 'plathand oor die gat'. But different personality ineractions (kid vs parent) will require different approaches from the parents....

I will admit, my kids do get a hiding now and again, like maybe once a year, the rest of the time I practice the guidance thing.

I got my butt whipped at school and at home and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

 

There is one thing than no one can deny. Since corporal punishment and army went out the window, youngsters are much more ill disciplined. Unfortunately there are a ot of parents out there who do not love their kids enough to discipline them properly.

To get back to the topic, all that has to be said, is that it was expeceted from a blike driving a Polo.

You are generalizing and are lowering the floor of the discussion further following such a line.

 

My experience would list a pecking order that would choose Double Cab drivers, Taxis, SUVs before C/D Segment hatch drivers with bonus points for drivers who have only recently received their drivers licenses (especially if in later adulthood)

 

The issue here is that someone would endager someone's life on our roads unnecessarily and that people don't respect fellow road users (whether they be cyclists, motorcyclists, cars or pedestrians)

That is a tough one. When I smack my kid for being rude and insulting other kids I don't apologies. He is angry for a while, but then life carries on.
