Full marks to CSA. I have been doing the "low-impact" license thing for the last four years. The process in 2011 is by far the smoothest and the quickest its ever been. Minutes from start to finish. Well done guys.

forgive me if this is obvious - when one collects a race number how do you actually prove you have a license?

The organisers can ask you to produce your licence. Doesn't happen often, but it does.

Keep it with you, as I suspect you will feel like a dork when you can't produce it, and have to pay a day licence fee.

I kept mine on me the WHOLE year in 2009 and the ONE time I wanted to drop back to ride with friends so didnt think about licenses, they asked me for it. I felt like such an IDIOT in front of everyone!

This was exactly the point I reached yesterday. Entered the Argus, joined the PPA (thats another story), paid the R75-00 to CSA in the process. PPA sent me a little crappy piece of cardboard. How was I going to prove I had a license. Then I was told that I missed and e-mail in December pointing towards finalising the process by registering on the CSA website. In the interim I had paid the R50-00 to ROAG, whom I have only had good dealings with. So I registed on the CSA website, picked ROAG as my club and as a PPA member. Club approval came through in 30 minutes, and about and hour later CSA approval was confirmed and my CARD was emailed to me. Will laminated the card, and voila, I have proof. Sweet......
