Whale 2 Whales or Berg and Bush

Hi Hubbers

 

Last year I was signed on to do the Berg and Bush and pulled out cause of injury but want to do another stage race this year. So looking at doing either one of these two - Whale 2 Whales or Berg and Bush. Any thoughts or the races and which one to do? Im based in CPT but can always fly up to Natal again.

I havent done either, but was chatting to a guy yesterday whose done sani and berg n bush. He reckons Berg is by far better value for money and probably the best stage race out there (if you can get into it). He did the 2 day and the 3 day and reckons the descent (3 day i think it is) is the better of the two.

Personally I would kill to do either one.

3 day Berg and Bush is the best short (4 days or less) stage race that I have done.

Try the new midweek 3 day Great Trek. The same route as the Descent just quieter, fewer racing snakes.

Caught out by my own dyslexia again! Yeah, don't like the idea of Whales to Whales.

 

The Wines to Whales Adventure, however, I really enjoyed a huge lot last year. Well organised, great route, lots of single track. Haven't done Berg & Bush so cannot compare.
