Cool ride - thanks Wannebe. Stayed with Vallie when he punctured, Tjommies and another dude also waited since we were all riding thru to Southern Suburbs via Lower Main Road. - got to have numbers thru this stretch.

Anyway, it was fun - definately do a Hub ride anytime.

Some more thanks wannabe and the rest of the chaps. Was definitely an enjoyable day out and such a good way of seeing how prepped you are for the actual ride this weekend. My legs are OK-ish. Feel somewhat confident for an enjoyable official Argus!

@TubeHunter Thanks for all the surfing tips (and support on the ride). We should definitely go for a surf sometime. Just give me a bit more time

Anytime Nutro! No need to wait. I'm at the beach 5 days of the week most of the time anyway! Better to get pointers now than struggle. Send me a PM when you want to go.

:D look at me posing with my (lack of) bicep muscles! Shows the fun I had. And in any case - biceps doesn't help one iotta up hills! Good times!!

ha ha... Why would you need biceps when you have cannons for legs???? :P

Less bicep muscles, more aero, greater speeds for the Giant.

Yeah Tjommies2, tell us, how did it go?

I had an eventful race. I started with 3 friends, 2 of them never did a mtb race before. The one guy had 3 punctures, eventually sitting along the route with patch & solution fixing tubes. We all learn the hard way

38km into the race on one of the descents a guy in front of me had a heavy crash. He sustained a bad gash in his right arm and we had to stop. Luckily a lady stopped and offered her headband so we wrap it around his arm to stop the bleeding.

Called for backup and they sent a 4x4 to fetch him

Hope it all went well Gavin

From there onwards we took an easy ride to the finish and came in under 5hrs

With all the drama on the day I had an enjoyable ride and managed to get 2 people hooked into mtb'ing

Besides the congestion at the first singletrack, waterpoints were well positioned towards the end of the race and plenty of liquids. They learned from the last 2 years

Will be back next, hopefully for the grape escape :)
