So my 1 and a half year old cycling shoes are starting to separate where the sole meets the leather part. My questions is: Would you mend it with glue or some type of adhesive? Seeing that the shoes aren’t that old, I don’t really want to buy new ones. Has anyone done this and did it work?

Never done it with cycling shoes, have done it with hiking boots though, make sure the area is spotlessly clean, roughen up the area if you can, apply contact adhesive, wait a few minutes then clamp over night and leave for a day to dry, its the pressure that makes a strong bond.

Got another 6 months or so out of my boots.

Yip. Done it too a few pairs of shoes including slops! Why chuck them when you can get a few more years out of them with some glue...? I know somebody that used a few rolls of duct tape on a pair of motocross boots before they got binned... Didn't look that cool though...

Yep.

Ill do anything to keep my cycling shoes alive.

For price of those babies, I want to get some extended life from them.

Brakes my heart to see how messed up the carbon is underneath.

But I suppose I could recover it with epoxy if I wanted to.
