A well known former world road champion who has never been in South Africa before has confirmed that he will be riding the Pick n Pay Argus cycle race on the 13th March. Anyone who would like to guess who it will be ?

1988 Fondriest retired in 1998, but might be a good bet since CWC is listed as an importer on their website http://www.fondriest...ne=SOUTH+AFRICA

1983, 1989 LeMond believes 'most of Floyd Landis' statements, but does not seem to be riding any more

1990 Dhaenens passed away

1991 & 1992 Bugno flies helicopters now, failed in a political career last year

1993 Armstrong was here last year

1994 LeBlanc works for a radio station now

1995 Olano retired in 2001

1996 Museeuw is making frames from carbon fibre and flax(?)

1997 Brochard might still be cycling as an amateur

1998 Camenzind is just not famous enough

1999, 2001 & 2004 Freire is still at it

2002 Vainšteins is just not famous enough

2002 Cipollini is back, but does not like hills .... Suikerbossie - not sure he'll be riding then

2003 Astarloa leans towards infamous, not famous

2005 Boonen is both famous and infamous for cocaine

Since CWC made the announcement.... I'll go with Fondriest as well
