  1. Mid South Gravel in the US also one of the biggest and the section of singletrack is an iconic part of the route. Riding bikes should be fun, if your bike setup or skills preclude tame singletrack being fun, then see it as an opportunity to change things up and have a new experience.
  2. Entered - going to be a 🔥 route and a beaut day out
  3. Guys all I can say is, if you can, SA Gravel is going to be good.
  4. Is it not the same chassis, just a different air spring? Honest question
  5. I have a very nice Pike for sale in the classifieds...just saying 😉
  6. I reckon that the Imbuko boys will be right up there for at least a few stages...
  7. Also look on Rene Herse website, GCN etc etc
  8. Latest research shows beyond doubt that on anything other than dead sooth gravel / tar, a lightly treaded MTB tyre is faster than a smaller gravel tyre.
  9. And they’ve spent a lot of time together training in the US with Matt staying with Keegan I think. Keen to see how they go 🤘
  10. Ja - box at each overnight stop and they can shuttle your car to the end 🤘
  11. Hey Team Anyone on here planning to ride Nonstop this year? Done it before? Anyone planning / done a self supported one?
  12. Honestly, you won’t get two even semi decent bikes for R 15 k. I’d suggest either sell and buy the best HT you can find, but personally, I’d service the Camber, make sure you’re fitted on it well and just ride that if it is in good shape.
  13. Would one never get back on the radar if you stayed in SA and raced (and hopefully won) as much as possible here and smash out the social media growth and networking for 2026?
  14. Ok so what would be the best Mr Wakefield? 100 words or less and go 🙌
  15. Reviving this, in Sportsman's Warehouse today, I saw that Cape Storm has a copy of the USWE Outlander 3 that sells for R 1 299 (R999 on special now) with a 2l bladder. It's called the Refresh - tried on and felt pretty bounce free and also sits high enough to access jersey pockets if that's your thing. Just an FYI for those on a more realistic budget. https://www.sportsmanswarehouse.co.za/product/capestorm-refresh-2l-hydration-pack/?srsltid=AfmBOoqaFLDZem1WTOHDegB_HqWDC781QPfsiZ7DryJeznVQIkkYQAa6
  16. Bleak. Hopefully some local brands see an opportunity. Pyga, South, CSixx, Thirteen / Rush (importers) etc could put together a proper bike and for the cost of one big corporate’s golf day his travel for the year would be sorted.
  17. Hectic. End of an era in a way. Thanks.
  18. Hi Team Does anyone know if ROAG is no longer? There only seem to be Mauritius based races on the site now. Bizarre - until end 2024 it was the default place for MTB, Trail running, multisport and even some road bike races. Where will one enter all of the races that used to form part of the 8-10 race ROAG / Quattro MTB series now - I see that it's been renamed the KZN Super Classic Series on the calendar. Does anyone have the inside scoop on what happened?
  19. Proper power on that sprint
  20. Thanks Morné - yes stack seems to be the final frontier for brands to get right and for tall guys it’s still a disaster 🥴. That’s what’s been weird with my Roscoe - higher stack than all my bikes before (including a SC Tallboy 4) but I’m having this issue with hand fatigue and loss of grip strength control.
  21. Thanks Chris - pretty keen on the Scalpel and I think it’ll serve me for the next few years perfectly 🤘
  22. I’m a chronic bike changer but have done 1600km on the Roscoe including a Festive 500. Saddle is a really nice Fabric one (short nose with a deep cutout) and has been comfy and isn’t too old. Something isn’t quite right but the Roscoe is on its way to a new home - I was (as is usual for me 🙄🤣) trying to fit a square peg in a round hole using the Roscoe for trail, gravel and marathon MTB which it just isn’t really made for. Appreciate the time to advise and share your experiences - will def get a bike fit on the new bike.
  23. Thank you. I’ve tried a lot of different things to get this right (three different bars, changed brake levers from the el cheapo Roscoe ones, different grips, etc etc). Funnily today my bars suddenly felt a bit wide (Burgtec Ridewide Alu 31.8mm that I’ve trimmed to 770mm). On my last Scalpel I had the standard Lyne Alu XC bar and stem and never had the issue so it must be a combo of stack, bar width and possibly roll. Appreciate the advice.
  24. Thanks for the inputs so far guys. Agree that one can't go too short on stem as the 55mm offset on the Lefty Ocho does sharpen up the steering already. I owned a 2019 Scalpel Si in Large with the Ocho and a 60mm Stem (445mm reach, 604mm stack and 624 ETT) felt pretty good so a Large 2021 can only feel better...
