  3. Anton Bosman Summit Cycles 011 315 8311 Engineering backround. Can sort your problem.
  4. They are advanced bits, make sure your mechanic reaaaally know his way around XX
  5. Spacing the Non Drive bb will change the clearance, but you don't want the rings closer than about 2mm from the stays, also important to make sure the chain line is not off-set to much ,or your chain will rub or even get dropped all the time. Just fitted XX for myself and LOVING it.
  6. The most XX cranks we get here are Q156 which does get close to most frames. These cranks are not "One size fits all" You might need to get a crank that spaces futher from the frame. Spacers are probably NOT the answer
  7. what do they call you when you have sprained your ankle? Limp d!ck.
  8. That will work,But when you next feel like an upgrade,,,,loose the dual control.
  9. No problem, where do we send the Invoice for Consultation?
  10.  I have had enough of the Female bikes too,Real bitch to keep them happy.
  11. The problem might have been less noticable before with older deraileur,if the pulleys for eg. where old and had more play, there are a few could be and might be's here.not that easy to diagnose the exact problem with out knowing all the facts.Just trying to help.
  12. As the inner liner wears away, the cable has more free-movemnt inside the liner. The idea that the cable will always follow the shortest route only realy applies when the cable is being pulled. But when released,it can "loop" a little in the housing. What you tend to find then,is that you can adjust cable tension sothat the gears either shift up well , or down well but not both and at the same time, the chain well then rattle or click in a few of the gears but not all. 22 years of cycle mechanic experience also helps.
  13. I know you said new,but is it NEW IN BOX or just much newer than your old one, another thing is,how old is the rest of the drive-train? Chain and Cassette?
  14. Wrong, housings that the plastic lining has worn can cause a deraileur to shift great in 6 of the9 gears.Seen it plenty of times. Replace the housing.
  15. those housings just might be the problem?
  16. If you did not get the shadow version, you WILL want to. Check if pulleys and cages are running parralel to the wheel in all gears. If not, then the hanger is bent, depending on how badly it is bent, you might need to replace it. Did you just change for the sake of up-grade,or did you break the old one? Might also be cable ferrules setting if you replaced the gear cables and housings with the upgrade
  17. What about trying another LBS next time?
  18. Simplon is a brand of bike,I think it is from Ausria. Or what brand are you looking to get?
  19. Are you wanting a simplon? I have a GUY.
  20. on these rebas you dont have full lock,it is a motion control damper which does allow some movement higher in the stroke
