  1. Does anyone know where this happened in Pretoria?
  2. Not good news at all. RIP Brett. Where in Pretoria did this happen?
  3. Coenie unfortunately I cannot answer this. But like I said earlier Lionel will be able to give you a fast direct answer. It might not be the answer you were looking for, but it will be answered.
  4. Coenie from my side I have had only good dealings with OMNICO. I am not sure what it is you are looking for. Is it a 29er! Damn those things are scarce! If you have problems with OMNICo please contact Lionel. He will help you. lionel@omnico.co.za I hope this sorts out your frustrations with local importers!
  5. I see Bennie Roux has a special on the 310XT! R2900.
  6. I was thinking of the pun as I typed it! But yes it is dangerous on those roads with blind corners and the whole bunch on the RIGHT side of the road. But in saying this the marshalss did a great job in trying to secure our safety. On the double road coming back to Carnival City there was a close call when a rider went all the way to the right hand side and narrowly missed a Merc Vito.
  7. Great event as everyone is stating here. I have just one gripe and it is for CSA more than for the organisers, I think. Cat 2 was a huge group. Too big and dangerous on the narrow roads. It was sometimes difficult with the wind to stay on the right side of the road. Other than the group size it was still a well organised event. Thank you.

    USN

This topic is on the fact that USN delivered good service and not on their popularity on other forums. Well done USN. I agree with Dangle!!
  9. DCM is riding Cannondale Super Six bikes on the road. Some of their bikes are Hi-Mod frames and others are standard carbon frames. The South African importer and distributor is Omnico. Gauteng dealers are more or less the same as they have been Amoryns when you last had a Cannondale.
  10. What age categories ladies? Elite ladies only tomorrow as far as I know?
  11. Jaco Ferreira was 2009 SA champ 30+
  12. Are you referring to tha Categories?
  13. Swissvan ou maat how are things on youre side of the world? Cold? I agree with you. CSA cant be blamed for everything. The local or provincial cycling body does all the arrangements with local government and municipalities. CSA does not do that as far as I know. The SA's in PTA you mention was organised by Gauteng North cycling.
  14. Speensalf snuif moeilik, maar dit smeer so lekker!
  15. Homer oh Homer where art thou....
  16. Andrew still said after Klerksdorp last year that SA's will stay in Klerksdorp for a year or two and then all of a sudden it is in PE. Klerksdorp was great last year! They even had a pre run on a weekend to smooth out any unforseen problems.
  17. I have the Scalpel Ultimate! It is a truely amasing bike!
  18. Everyone selling a Scalpel wants to upgrade to the 2011 models. Quite a few radical changes from the old Scalpels to the 2011 models.
  19. Francois do you mean Super Six or System six?
  20. But Ou Kop you just love shopping at the Lab!!!!!
  21. Jip its R20k. Depending on your LBS you might get discount.
  22. PDI= Previously Disadvantaged Individual as far as I know, but I might be wrong!
  23. Spinnekop now you are making sense where there is little sense doing the rounds. I am one of the individual week end warriors. I dont have a team and it is highly unlikely that I will find a team. Why? Because I prefer to race by myself. No pressure from anyone and nobody tells me where and when I have to race. I do believe that the current system is flawed, so some of these suggestions make sense. Bring in categories, but keep the 30+ cats seperate from the other rules. Cat Elite can abide by these rules as they are supposed to be the future 2020 vision. We as vets just want to race. It takes me back to the SuperVet series of two years ago where the top 100 30+ vets raced each other. Now that was fun!! CSA place is in cats according to our seeding and not age. Dont apply all the rules of teams, some of of us and to some extent I think it might be the majority prefer to ride as individuals. If the teams are enforced over the board I for one will be riding in the open cats if at all. I think a lot of sponsors will quit the sport of cycling as it is known in SA. It is just getting to expensive. Look at the other threads regarding the cost of licence fees. Now one has to be licenced, you have to be part of a club and you have to pay for your 4-6 man team as well. Now the team has to enter races. These races arent cheap anymore. So every race enrty will cost a team plus minus R1000-00( Iam talking big races). Whereas an individual can decide where and when he races. These are just my thoughts and I really hope someone at CSA reads all of our Hub rantings. I wanna race. I wanna race in categories according to ability and not age, but I dont want to be forced into a team!!!!
  24. This will be the official death of road racing as we know it! Spinnekop you might like it, but your current team is made up of old people like yourself. So to bring doen the average you will have to get some young BEE partners!!
  25. Use Bayticol Aerosol. Sold at Dischem.
